The Association of Force Investigators (AFI) Accreditation Program was established as an independent and objective means of evaluating the qualifications of those professionals involved in the investigation and analysis of police use of force encounters. AFI accreditation does not require affiliation with any particular organization or completion of any specific training program. Rather, credentialing is based upon an overall assessment of an applicant’s knowledge, ability, training, and experience regarding the competent investigation and analysis of use of force events.
